Soon to be Rhubarb

Hello Gardeners,  In spite of snow set backs, Spring planting season has arrived.  Our garden opening and first work day is this Saturday April 16 from 1-4.  Although we won’t be planting rhubarb (it’s a perennial) , rhubarb is one of those quintessential early season crops.  Others that you can plant in your beds are spinach, peas, lettuces, and radishes  Wait to plant tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, eggplant –all warm loving crops.  It’s always a temptation to get those plants into the ground, especially since they look so beautiful in the nurseries.  Be sure to check seed packets and plant labels to avoid disappointment.  See you in the garden!  Ellen
